‘The Last Duel’ Film Set at Bective County Meath

We enjoyed a delightful walk with the kids last August, exploring the grounds of Bective Abbey, one of the many heritage sites along the Boyne Valley Drive. The ruins have been beautifully preserved and are surrounded by lush green pastures, sloping down to the River Boyne.

Boyne Boats

Gently paddling along the Boyne canal in a traditional Irish Currach is a really unique way to see this part of the Boyne Valley. Although my children are keen sailors, they felt it was like stepping back in time, as they glided along the canal taking in the beautiful landscape and listening to Ross Kenny's stories about this ancient valley.

The Casino Thatched Cottage

The Casino thatched cottage in Malahide is a landmark home, built c.1800 by the Talbot family, who lived in Malahide Castle. I have fond memories of walking past this cottage everyday on the way to school and feeding the two donkeys in the daffodil meadow!
