Connell's House | Connells House and Barn

Connell’s House is a unique self catering holiday home for family and friends to gather, with four comfortable bedrooms and three stylish bathrooms. The parlour is the heart of the home, with its original mud and stone white washed walls, reflecting the character and charm of this landmark house in Duleek.

THE SPACE

Connell’s House can accommodate up to 10 guests in 4 bedroom with 3 bathrooms.

BEDROOM 1 – Ground floor with king size bed and adjacent bathroom (shower over bath).
BEDROOM 2 – First floor with super king or twin bed arrangement and shared en-suite shower room.
BEDROOM 3 – First floor with super king or twin bed arrangement and shared en-suite shower room.
BEDROOM 4 – First floor with twin beds and en-suite shower room.

Please note guests have the option of superking or twin beds in Bedroom 2 and Bedroom 3.

We also have 2 foldaway beds suitable for adults and children. We can make up one foldaway bed in Bedroom 1 or alternatively, we can make up two foldaway beds in Bedroom 2. Bedroom 3 and 4 cannot accommodate foldaway beds.

Please let us know in advance of your arrival, how you would like each bedroom set up to suit your family or friends.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

Guests can enjoy cooking meals for family and friends in the large dining kitchen, which we have stocked with essentials, such as salt and pepper, cooking oil and balsamic vinegar, herbs and spices, tea and coffee, milk and sugar. We’ll also have a few Irish treats waiting for you on the dining table!

There are some cleaning supplies in the kitchen, along with dishwasher tablets, laundry detergent, bin bags, kitchen paper, napkins and dish towels.

The bathrooms are furnished with fluffy white Egyptian cotton towels and ‘The Handmade Soap Company’ toiletries, which are made in nearby Slane Village.

All the bedlinen is white Egyptian cotton and is professionally laundered.

GOOD TO KNOW

Connell’s House is available to guests anytime after 4pm on the day of your arrival. We ask that you depart by 10am on the last day of your stay. We will do our best to accommodate early check in and late check out requests, please enquire before your arrival date.

Connell’s House is a family friendly home. We are happy to provide a cot, high chair, stair gate, toys and a play mat to help your children enjoy their stay.

The cottage has super fast broadband and you’ll find the WiFi Password in the House Manual.

The television is fitted with a Google Chromecast plug in device, so you can stream movies from Netflix, YouTube and other apps using your phone, tablet or laptop.

There is plenty of free on street parking in front of the cottage and around the Village Green.

Public transport is available to Dublin City and Drogheda town centre from the Main Street, which is a one minute walk away.

Regrettably we do not welcome pets.

Smoking and vaping is not permitted in the house or garden.

Events and house parties are not permitted.

No more than 10 guests are permitted to stay in Connell’s House.

Enjoy cooking for family and friends in the bright contemporary kitchen, which overlooks the pretty patio garden, with views towards the spire of St. Mary’s Abbey. The fully equipped kitchen has been stocked with the essentials to get you started, as well as a few treats to help you settle in.

After a day exploring the Boyne Valley, enjoy a delicious family dinner in the kitchen and relax in the cosy Parlour, on a traditional rocking chair by a warm cast iron stove. Sleep peacefully under the thatched roof in sumptuous beds with Egyptian white cotton bed linen and eclectic furnishings. Spend your Irish holiday in an idyllic home and base yourself in the heart of the Boyne Valley, to experience the beauty and hospitality of Ireland.

We stayed in several VRBO rentals throughout Scotland and Ireland on this trip, and Connell's House was by far our favourite!!! Very warm and welcoming check in, old charming thatched cottage that has been completely renovated and updated, fabulous restaurant in an old church just a short walk away - the perfect holiday home!

We are really impressed by Connell's Barn. It is a beautiful, very clean and welcoming house. The descriptions and suggestions from Karla were great. We had no problems to find the barn or anything we needed. Duleek is a nice small town and a good starting point for trips to sights around the the east coast.

Karla’s property in Duleek is a lovely mix of the old and the new, tastefully decorated with attention to detail. The property is best suited for a larger group and easily accommodate the 8 adults and three young children in our group. All the instructions were clearly set out and we had no problem checking into Connell’s House. The history of the property was an added bonus and fascinating but reflective of the little touches Karla has made to make your stay both easy, comfortable and interesting. The children loved the toys and I nearly got the jigsaw puzzle finished! The property is ideally located for visiting Dublin city or the Boyne Valley historical sites. Karla was prompt with any correspondence and we appreciated the treats on arrival. Super host is well deserved as you have a gorgeous property. Thank you Karla!

We had an exceptional experience at Connell’s House & Barn. Karla was extremely helpful and the accommodation was absolutely beautiful. We had a rare family gathering with 14 of us staying in the house and barn. The buildings are beautifully restored. All the rooms are comfortable and finished beautifully. Both kitchens are very well equipped . We were fortunate to have fantastic weather and spent lots of time in the lovely garden. I would highly recommend this lovely place.
