Connell’s House is a unique self catering holiday home for family and friends to gather, with four comfortable bedrooms and three stylish bathrooms. The parlour is the heart of the home, with its original mud and stone white washed walls, reflecting the character and charm of this landmark house in Duleek.

THE SPACE

Connell’s House can accommodate up to 10 guests in 4 bedroom with 3 bathrooms.

BEDROOM 1 – Ground floor with king size bed and adjacent bathroom (shower over bath).
BEDROOM 2 – First floor with super king or twin bed arrangement and shared en-suite shower room.
BEDROOM 3 – First floor with super king or twin bed arrangement and shared en-suite shower room.
BEDROOM 4 – First floor with twin beds and en-suite shower room.

Please note guests have the option of superking or twin beds in Bedroom 2 and Bedroom 3.

We also have 2 foldaway beds suitable for adults and children. We can make up one foldaway bed in Bedroom 1 or alternatively, we can make up two foldaway beds in Bedroom 2. Bedroom 3 and 4 cannot accommodate foldaway beds.

Please let us know in advance of your arrival, how you would like each bedroom set up to suit your family or friends.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

Guests can enjoy cooking meals for family and friends in the large dining kitchen, which we have stocked with essentials, such as salt and pepper, cooking oil and balsamic vinegar, herbs and spices, tea and coffee, milk and sugar. We’ll also have a few Irish treats waiting for you on the dining table!

There are some cleaning supplies in the kitchen, along with dishwasher tablets, laundry detergent, bin bags, kitchen paper, napkins and dish towels.

The bathrooms are furnished with fluffy white Egyptian cotton towels and ‘The Handmade Soap Company’ toiletries, which are made in nearby Slane Village.

All the bedlinen is white Egyptian cotton and is professionally laundered.

GOOD TO KNOW

Connell’s House is available to guests anytime after 4pm on the day of your arrival. We ask that you depart by 10am on the last day of your stay. We will do our best to accommodate early check in and late check out requests, please enquire before your arrival date.

Connell’s House is a family friendly home. We are happy to provide a cot, high chair, stair gate, toys and a play mat to help your children enjoy their stay.

The cottage has super fast broadband and you’ll find the WiFi Password in the House Manual.

The television is fitted with a Google Chromecast plug in device, so you can stream movies from Netflix, YouTube and other apps using your phone, tablet or laptop.

There is plenty of free on street parking in front of the cottage and around the Village Green.

Public transport is available to Dublin City and Drogheda town centre from the Main Street, which is a one minute walk away.

Regrettably we do not welcome pets.

Smoking and vaping is not permitted in the house or garden.

Events and house parties are not permitted.

No more than 10 guests are permitted to stay in Connell’s House.

Enjoy cooking for family and friends in the bright contemporary kitchen, which overlooks the pretty patio garden, with views towards the spire of St. Mary’s Abbey. The fully equipped kitchen has been stocked with the essentials to get you started, as well as a few treats to help you settle in.

After a day exploring the Boyne Valley, enjoy a delicious family dinner in the kitchen and relax in the cosy Parlour, on a traditional rocking chair by a warm cast iron stove. Sleep peacefully under the thatched roof in sumptuous beds with Egyptian white cotton bed linen and eclectic furnishings. Spend your Irish holiday in an idyllic home and base yourself in the heart of the Boyne Valley, to experience the beauty and hospitality of Ireland.

Karla was a fantastic host who went above and beyond to make sure we had a clean, comfortable place to stay. The barn was sparkling clean upon arrival, and we could not get over how beautifully it was decorated. Karla provided everything we needed, from fresh towels, to handmade soaps, to snacks on the table & milk in the fridge upon our arrival. She was willing to accommodate the needs of our children by providing a baby cot, baby gate, high chair and plenty of toys. She left plenty of information regarding restaurant and grocery store recommendations, and also things to do around town/in neighboring towns. You can tell that Karla cares about her guests and wants them to enjoy their time in Ireland. We stayed at five different places during our visit, and this was our favorite by far! When we booked Connell’s House, we had never visited Ireland, so we weren’t too sure what to expect or if this would be a good location to stay for a holiday home base. Our expectations were exceeded and then some. This home is absolutely stunning. It was very clean and Karla provides every amenity you could possibly want. It was the perfect location for our family and it offered some peace and tranquility after long days site seeing in the bigger cites. It was very convenient to drive from Dublin airport and it was easy to plan day trips from this location. Karla was an amazing host, making us feel special from the beginning, with a welcome basket of local goodies and fresh milk in the fridge, we felt right at home when we arrived. If you plan on visiting Ireland, don’t hesitate on renting Karla's home. It is stunning, functional, sparkling clean, and all around a beautiful home to call yours for your vacation. Karla responds quickly to any questions you might have and we appreciated the in depth book of recommendations for Ireland, that she has on the coffee table. We throughly enjoyed our stay in Ireland and this home just added to the beauty of that. We will definitely be coming back to stay here in the future!
